Delian Media is an independent music publication by Chicago-based critic Joe Valdez.

First published in 2023, Delian Media is the culmination of Valdez’s decade of experience reviewing music, interviewing artists, and ranking albums in mixed media formats. The publication takes its name from the island of Delos, the mythological birthplace of the Apollo, god of arts and prophecy. Conceived during a period of contemporary history in which retrospective reflection, reassessment, and legacy play a more important role than ever before in popular culture, Delian Media was established in recognition that culture critics hold an oracular responsibility: the impossible task of appraising art as to claim what will, can, and should stand the test of time. Reviews of new releases, fresh examinations of putative classics, and critical essays on a range of topics relating to the creation and criticism of music accompany an ongoing process of cataloging over 1700 rated albums into year-by-year rankings.
